“Can I handle this when it gets hard?”

Ask:

“Have I already seen how I’ll handle it?”

When you know what’s coming:

  • Transitions feel smoother
  • Effort feels more controlled
  • Decisions happen faster

Not because it’s easier—

But because it’s familiar.


Practice: Pre-Load the Session


Step 1: Run It Before You Do It

Before your next key workout:

Take 2–3 minutes and mentally walk through:

  • The start (how you settle in)
  • The middle (where it gets uncomfortable)
  • The finish (how you hold or push)

Be specific.

Not perfect.


Step 2: Identify the Critical Moments

Pick 1–2 points where you typically:

  • Drift
  • Push too hard
  • Lose control

Decide ahead of time:

What will you do there?


Step 3: Execute What You Saw

During the session:

When you hit those moments—

Recognize them.

Then do what you already decided.
